Great Handy Wildlife Reference

Thin, laminated, waterproof - this vividly colored guide is easy to fold up and slip in a pocket so you actually end up using it to identify some of the ~200 species (mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds & butterflies) depicted. We've used this id card on a couple of trips and while the adults enjoyed it the kids were the ones constantly passing it around trying to figure out what that bird on the telephone wire was or planning which birds, butterflies and animals they would see in the next ecozone we were headed to. Recommended.

going to carry this with me during my upcoming trip

I find this and similar guides very useful. I am planning an upcoming photo trip to Costa Rica and will be carrying this with me wherever I go. It is compact, easy to use, waterproof and gives a quick look at who I may be encountering on my journey. It is also a lot easier than carrying larger and heavier guides out in the cloud forests.

Convenient pocket guide

This was a great help in the jungle in Costa Rica in indentifying some of the more common plants and animals. It was great fun to try to find what we were seeing and learn a bit about it on the spot. The lamination was a life saver otherwise the humidity would have rendered the guide useless. Very glad we had this along on our adventure.
